I Was Mistakenly Dismissed For Cheating and Dismissed

… i think i should point out that this proctor is not in good standing with students. I’ll say that he’s not a very nice person, but he’s been called a lot worse names i.e. jerk, fat ■■■■■■■, d0uchebag, @$$hole, and other names I shouldn’t even write out.

<p>Um… how would students **know ** their protractor? Most don’t know who they are…</p>

He’s made seating charts for test-takers, writes down how many questions each person leaves blank, and other stuff.

Proctors ARE SUPPOSE TO SEAT YOU like if you have a calculator that is easily seen by others, then the seat you at the side.</p>

<p>Most proctors don’t write how many you left blank… the machine scores it. And EVEN if he did, I couldn’t care less because that won’t affect anyone’s scores.</p>

This guy just dismisses students all the time, for both ACT and SAT. It’s really bad luck if this guy ends up as your proctor and he’s out to get you. Plus, you’d likely end up paying for the retake too.

<p>How do you know he dismisses people for both the ACT and SAT? And you do know that ACT and SAT are made by DIFFERENT companies, right?</p>

Which reminds me, that “buddy” that Life mentioned who got dismissed because cell phone (btw, tman doesn’t know who that is. They’re not buddies. See? She’s making up more stories, but I digress.)

<p>I don’t see that she is making up anything … she just posted what she saw happened. What does she benefit by lying?</p>

Back on point, I asked around. Whoever that student was, I can only establish that a cell phone went off during the test. Seems to me that the poor kid was so amped up for the test that he forgot to switch off his phone or put it on vibrate. That proctor just kicked him out because his phone went off during the test. As far as this person’s “cheating” goes, I haven’t heard anyone say that except for Lifeofsolitude. I guess everyone is cheater except her. </p>

<p>In my experience (very rarely but it happens), but if someone’s phone really does go off, a normal proctor gives a warning and that the student would have to be dismissed if it rings a second time. Obviously, the student would say sorry and turn off his/her phone straight away. These kinds of accidents with phones do happen, and most proctors realize that. The 1st time the phone goes off may be accidental, but a 2nd time is definitely not.

<p>I think the proctor was just doing his job. It doesn’t benefit him to dismiss students… on the contrary, it causes a big fuss.</p>

In any case, this is getting truly ridiculous. As someone mentioned, tman’s original question has been answered. It’s time to put this to rest. Whether you’re for or against tman, this incident has already come and gone. </p>
