I was reading the massive argument on GS vs CC and would it be wrong if they applied to GS if they thought they had a better shot at getting in, just so they could get the Columbia degree? This doesn't apply to me (only 17 yo) but was just wondering in general ...

Why did you post this message three different times?? Did you not go back to the main page to see if it had gone through...?

In any case, to answer your question, GS is only for "non-traditional" students (students who have interrupted their education for at least a year, like military vets, or people who just took time off after high school), while CC is for more "traditional" students (kids who go straight from high school to college). So unless you are one of those "non-traditional" students, you can't really apply to GS anyway.

oh sorry, i didn't know it went 3 times haha, my internet was screwing up, thanks.

You can't apply to GS out of high school.

i think you can apply out of high school if you provide reasons as to why you consider yourself a "non-traditional" student. people who have full time jobs, for example, apply to GS and take as little as one course per semester.
