Alright well I'm going to be a junior next year (a not so pathetic way of saying I'm a sophmore), I'm going to try IB my graduating class will be the first from my school to have IB so we're guinea pigs. Anyway I took the PSAT's scored I think around the 220's (can't remember the exact number) this year, am actively involved in theater I've been inducted into my school's troop of the International Thespian Society. I had a major role in the production of the Importance of Being Earnest that was judged second in the state. Also I have a G.P.A of around 3.9 (it would be higher but I'm taking Advanced Chemistry with one of the toughest teachers at my school). Other spiffy factors I'm going to be taking Spanish 5 next year and will test in both AP and IB in Spanish I started in bilingual elementary school in the fourth grade and alot of the native speakers in my school think I'm pretty much bilingual. I have a constant volunteer gig at the public library thats about 5 hours a week, and I've been volunteering there for about 4 years. Also I have a part-time job that I've already had for about a year.

Knowing all of this and knowing that I'd like to study Political Science and Education and probably minor in Spanish, can anyone suggest some colleges and give me what you think a realistic chance/if you think I'd like (or do well) at the following schools: Colorado College
Brown University
Cornell U.
Yale U.
U. of Chicago
George Washington U.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

If you want a really realistic chance you shouldn't be reading CC and let it sway your views and voice when it comes time for college essays and stuff like that. Just keep doing what you're doing and I don't see any reason why you couldn't get into all of those schools.

And when I say you shouldn't be reading CC, I MEAN IT. I discovered this time-sucker site AFTER my apps and I am so glad because I have been getting conflicting views on practically EVERYTHING.

So if you know what's good for you...let this be the last message you read on here.

Ignore Christinie. Instead, click the link below to get an idea of what your chances are at the Ivies and other highly selective schools.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?p=1852738#post1852738

With this info, you can assess your chances on your own.

Colorado= match
U. Chicago= reach
the rest= very big reach

The only place for a purple frog is TCU:)

Harvard, how is GWU a very big reach? It's definitely a safety. I'd also say Chicago is a match.

There you go, see...conflicting views again. I personally think you should just make your decisions yourself.

I agree DON'T LET THIS SITE SUCK YOUR TIME.

Cornell is definately not a very big reach, if your SATs are anything like your PSAT.

Brown is not a very big reach, it's a big reach/high reach. I think the greatest applicants have it as a reach, and you're really close.

I totally agree with Murasaki and MeanieChristine..i'm so glad that I didn't learn about this site until senior year...it's such a time sucker and it messes with your mind and sways your views, although it is helpful. So yes, just do what you're doing, and come back when you're a SENIOR!

Thanks for all the responses guys, but I was wondering becuse most of you probably have been looking at colleges for longer than I have if you could tell me some schools that would be good for my interest in Education and Politics. Besides TCU :)
