Good luck! I hope you'll be rewarded many times over! I really liked Richmond when I visited and am definitely applying, but have to go RD.

Will be looking for your post of "Great News!"

Congrats, great desicion and good luck. When it comes closer to the day you're supposed to find out my way of finding out before the letter came may still work I'll let you know later.

Yea, I visited that school also. It's a great school, I'll be applying there also if I don't get into the 1st choice with ED. Good Luck!!!

ahh...just sent in my report card as they told me they requested it, only like two and half weeks!!!

i applied early to richmond too! im getting so anxious..good luck!!!!! by the way how can you find out before the letter comes?

second that

Alright guys, I'm just going on what I know from last year, it might not be correct or work this year, but I'll just share my experience. When I applied ED I got a username and pin number to log into Bannerweb (bannerweb.richmond.edu) to check on my application status. At first I'm pretty sure the only link was Student Services and then you could click through to Application Status. However, a few days before I got my acceptance letter, which was around Dec 13 if you're wondering, I logged into Bannerweb and under the Student Services link there was a link to check my SpiderCard balance, thats like the cards we use for meal plans and stuff. So I figured this would only be there if I got in, but this isn't a proven method, so take it for what its worth, don't want to dissapoint anyone just letting you guys know. Best of luck in the next few weeks.

Sorry, xx13xx's method doesn't work. My d applied RD this year, and as soon as she got her Bannerweb ID, there was a place to check the SpiderCard balance. I doubt they've even looked at her application yet.

Ok sorry guys, I knew it wasn't for sure, just something I noticed, thanks Chedva for correcting it. Guess you all will just have to wait another 2 weeks.

I'm from Alabama and I think I'm one of the few to be interested in Richmond at my high school. I was hoping that someone could give me a rough estimate of when Richmond Scholars Semi-finalists will be notified. The website says that if you dont get it, they dont tell you. That kinda sucks, so I didnt wanna wait on something that isnt gonna come. I didnt know if we would know in february or later since the interviews are tentatively in March.

Also, what kind of chance do you think I have for the Scholars award with these stats:

1480 (750v/730m) 700writing

My son was notified on Dec. 20 that he was a semi-finalist.

patsmom, is that only for ED kids? Are RD kids considered for the Richmond Scholars as well?

Chedva,

My S applied RD. I think he had to get his application in early to be considered, though. The deadline for consideration was Dec. 15, as opposed to the regular RD deadline of Jan. 15.

Thanks, patsmom. My d applied RD in November, but hasn't heard anything. So I guess she's not being considered. Oh, well.

Has anyone other than patsmom received an email or postal mail about the Richmond Scholars semifinalist status? I was surprised that a notification would go out so shortly after the 12/15 deadline. Do any current Richmmond Scholars have an experience in terms of their notification that they would like to share? A scholarship will certainly be necessary for our situation.

from what the admissions office has told me they are notifying semi-finalists sometime in february, probably toward the end of the month.

I got notified via email 2 days ago that I've been named a Richmond Scholar semi-finalist. I sent in my RD app in November.

NYYsun25, congratulations!
