I moved at the beginning of my junior year (possibly the worst time to move). Now I have a bunch of teachers who barely know me, and a counselor whom I've only met twice. When I apply, is my old school suppose to send out a transcript as well? And, could i use a rec. letter from my sophomore teacher since he knows me better than most of my junior year teachers?

I could definitely be wrong on this, but I always assumed you had one transcript, that followed you wherever you went (ok, not literally...). I would also think that the recommendation thing is fine, though often, it is recommended that recommendations come from more higher level teachers.

We moved at the beginning of DD's senior year. The old school sent all records to the new school and grades from both schools are all on one transcript. She also ended up with dual enrollment grades on the same transcript.

She had no trouble getting the counselor to write a recommendation because he had accesss to all of her records and students had to write resumes as part of their senior project, so he had that almost immediately. they also did interviews and questionnaires that covered stuff for recommendations. It would have been even easier if she had been a student there junior year also.

She had a teacher from her old high school write a recommendation and got one from the new school librarian whom she had done some work with. Her classes were dual enrollment and some were online, so she never even met some of her senior year teachers. I think she also got one from her coach.

Since you have that extra year at the school, you should be fine.
