And it was AWESOME!

what is a regional session and how do I attend?!

Anyway, here's what I found out:
- Rank is looked at in context. If you didn't spent all 4 years at the same school, they'll pretty much count you as unranked.

Your senior year is crucial. If you suddenly slacked off, took less AP classes, or your grades start dropping, they will scrutinize that a lot as they count your senior year the beginning of your college experience with them.

Financial aid is good. Even if you're rich, you'll get some aid.

Legacy doesn't matter. It's simply there for kids who have wanted to go to Penn all their lives because of their parents, and want to display that passion.

Essays are a biggy.

SATs do not cover bad grades, but grades do make up for bad SATs.

that last part...do you think that counts for SAT subject tests too?
thanks so much for posting this, btw!

crappp
shotty not sending my senior year grades.
freakin hard as hell classes this year. wayy below my capabilities. gahhh im gonna actually have to try this quarter. -.-

Forgot to add
- Do not rush your scores, even if you take the November 1st SAT. If they need it, they will call you and you can then rush it, but otherwise you don't have to.

This makes me feel slightly better.
My rank was thrown off because i transferred schools between my freshman and sophomore year and I was getting worried about it.
Good info.

Legacy matters, legacy matters.

Legacy:
Applicants - 1,343
Admitted - 450 (33.5%)
Number Enrolled - 361
Percent of Class - 14.8%

Overall:
Total Applicants - 22,935
Total Admitted - 3,888 (16.95%)
Total Enrolled - 2,445 (62.89%)

The numbers speak for themselves. Legacy counts.

They were obviously qualified.

hahah zester, you cant just assume that just as you cant assume that they werent qualified..

i am sure that legacy matters.. it even says so on the website. but one could argue that people who have parents that graduated Penn are more likely to be successful than someone who has parents that graduated from community college. I doubt that is the true motivator behind those statistics, but as a kid with absolutely no hooks, I would like to think so.

fail troll is fail. 40% acceptance rate ED for legacies. Grades dont make up for bad SATs. They just tell u that stuff to make you feel better. I once heard a Duke adcom say "People ask me whether we want high SATs or high grades. I tell them we want high SATs AND grades." Because alot of people have high both so what makes you having one or the other acceptable?
