I will be laid off from my internship... I listed it as activity on college app

I began a small research project early last month for an internship. Long story short, I procrastinated and I have nothing to present tomorrow (I had to make a very comprehensive poster). I only have my data, nothing else. I can’t really do anything about it at this point, and I’m not gonna make any excuses.

My main problem now is that i listed this as one of my activities for my college applications, which have already been submitted. In the application itself, I talked about the stuff I was gonna do in my research–but I didn’t mention that I was going to present it (not enough space on common app). I did do the stuff I mentioned on the application; hence, the data that I gathered.

How should I go about this? Do I notify the colleges I applied to regarding this? I’m almost positive that my advisor won’t even let me present tomorrow since I got nothing.

What kind of school did you apply to? Most don’t care much about ECs anyhow. Probably don’t mention it.

I applied to NYU, NEU, Tufts, and a couple others for safeties.

I think if you didn’t mention the poster or presenting, you do not need to do anything. As long as you did what you actually said you would do, then you don’t have an issue (at least as far as admissions go – but it sounds like you messed up in general – you can’t pull that kind of stunt in college without more serious consequences).
