Hello,
I am a rising high school senior.
My situation is interesting, as I transferred from a very competitive magnet school (all honors classes), to a “normal” high school. My grades at the magnet school freshman year were OKAY, mostly A’s with B grades in only two classes. Sophomore year, I transferred halfway, at the new school my grades have been stellar, although the first half of my soph year was fairly “rough” (lots of B’s, and a C or too). I managed to bring this up during the remainder of my soph year at the new school, and my junior year grades in AP were stellar as well. My senior year course load is also full of AP courses. Regardless, I still managed to pull top 10 % at the second school (including grades from first school).
Do you think this situation will completely ruin my chances given the fairly low grades during the first half of sophomore year?

+++++++
my essay/recs are pretty solid as well. oh and 4/5’s on all APs thus far.
Do you think my decent EC’s, above average ACT score and essay/recs will be enough to make up for my subpar soph grades at the old school? Other than the first two thirds of sophomore year, my grades have been very good. I am just worried about how my unique situation will impact admissions at these selective schools.
Any reccomendations for safety schools? I was thinking American and Syracuse were more likely than these schools, though maybe not safeties.
Thanks! I will chance back!
Intended major is economics and english double.
