Yale and Columbia rock ;)

Harvard's admit rate was around 8.9% overall as well.

okay as long as we are doing this thread...

i will turn down harvard for Stanford

Stanford '11 !!!!!

Hmm....It's really hard to turn down a great school that expects my family to pay 0.00 dollars every year. But possibly Yale, even though no amount of financial aid trumps Harvard's offer.

Yale full ride?... that's greater than Harvard easily.

Oh, my post was confusing. I meant Harvard full ride, Yale not so great. But Yale being my earlier first choice.

Triske, my son hasn't decided, but he may well do the same, and there's no reason to feel defensive about it. Son does prefer Harvard to Stanford, for some reason he didn't like the "feel" there. And then he also needs to decide about Caltech: Caltech, Harvard and Stanford have the same prefrosh weekend, so he can really only go to one. (we discussed the logistics in giong to both Caltech's and Harvard's and it seems pretty insane...)

I withdrew my application for a full ride/research oppurtunities at state school!

University of Chicago? We'll see.

stanford...maybe.
i'm going crazy trying to decide between the two

I may turn down Harvard for Princeton, but at this point I'm not 100% sure...

i have feeling there is going to be a lot of pondering elipsis points on this thread...

Well, I got into my first choice ED, but I WOULD turn Harvard down for...

...Amherst, Brown, Princeton, or Yale...

I may turn down Harvard for Dartmouth, Williams, or Tufts.

Dartmouth gave me a bit more money than Harvard. Still haven't received packages from Williams or Tufts.

I'm turning down my spot on the waitlist for Yale. Yippee!

I'm turning down my spot on the waitlist for Stanford. Yippee!

Right now, Princeton is looking the best, since they're offering me full tuition... I still have to submit some forms to Harvard, and see what they offer. I also got into W&L with a full scholarship, but it's hard to turn down these prestigious, extremely selective schools with excellent Classics depts. But if my first choice, UChicago, somehow gives me a lot of aid, I would go there in a heartbeat.

Hmmm... Harvard is free for me (because of the financial aid initiative) but Princeton is still a few thousand a year for me. I'm guessing that if Princeton is free for you, you will likely pay nothing at Harvard as well.

I Will Turn Down Harvard For Princeton

I will probably turn down Harvard for Stanford. Tough choice, though.
