I won't have a year of VPA under my belt :(

I'm out of state and I don't know what to do.

Apparently I can't take 2 semesters of VPA (art and photography) in one semester cause it has to be one continuous class.

I've played piano for a couple years during high school but I don't know how that works since it's outside of school.

I'm looking at community college courses, but I don't know if they'll satisfy a year requirement. Most of them are 3 credit courses. Are 3 credit courses equivalent to a year long course in high school?

sigh.. looks like I'm not getting into UCB

yes, a 3 credit cc course is roughly equivalent to a year-long HS course. As long as the course is similar to that offered and approved by a calif cc, you'll be fine.

I will call to check tommorow..

but, I found out that I have a semester of CAD 1, and I can take CAD 2 next semester. Is computer-aided design/drafting a VPA course?

Ask them if taking community college classes over the summer is a possibility. It is a possible alternative. Also, taking cc classes next semester might work. You should call the admissions people.
