<p>Georgetown is out of the question unless you can really buckle down, study, and get a great SAT score--but even then, your lack of any true EC might kill you.</p>
<p>I rarely answer these threads, but I think even though you're in Virginia, you may need to improve your scores to get into UVA. I say this so that you won't be too complacent going into your senior year. UVA is not too picky about SATs, but it would be helpful if you could improve your scores. What they do really care about are your high school grades, extracurriculars, essays, and recommendations. That said, try to improve your GPA a bit. It's good, but it could be better. <p>I do commend you though for keeping your grades strong while playing soccer all throughout high school.</p>
<p>One last question I forgot to ask is, "How is your course load?" Meaning did you take a lot of honors and AP classes? UVA is more forgiving with your grades if you took the hardest course load your school has to offer and have a 3.7 than if you have a 4.0 and took mostly easy classes.</p>
<p>If you can bring your SAT score up to 2000+, you will have a MUCH better shot at UVA. A northern VA kid with a 2000+ SAT score and top 10% class rank has a very good shot at UVA.</p>
<p>Seeing as how you’re a freshman… YES. You can get into both of those schools. You have 2.5 years to turn your grades UP. (Especially since you’re not doing EA or ED!)</p>
<p>Now, you’e weighted GPA is only .1 higher than your unweighted, so that makes me think that you’re not taking challenging courses. You NEED to take challenging courses.</p>
<p>You need to buckle down and study and study and study. Log off CC, facebook, and myspace. Turn that cell phone OFF.</p>
<p>You definitely need to retake the SAT. Seeing as your a freshman, I’m guessing you probably took the SAT in 7th grade as a talent search. (Most students don’t take it from grade 8-10.) That definitely means that you can way up your scores. Even if you took the SAT this year, you still are likely to up them a good bit. (You have above average scores for a freshman.)</p>
<p>Maybe try the Xiggi Method and study for the SATs.</p>
<p>And… GET INVOLVED next year. As soon as school starts, choose 5-6 clubs or activities to get involved with that interest you. Choose good ones, because you want to keep these through the end of your senior year. If you’re not sure, join LOTS your sophomore year, and then drop the ones you don’t like your junior year.</p>
