I would really like a 32 by December

I'm averaging like a 27-28 right now across all sections. E= 26-28 , Math= 27-28 My favorite section Reading= 28-30 Science= 23-26 weakest.

When December rolls around I would like to have a 32 Composite since I want to apply to UPENN and other top schools.

My Biggest pitfalls seem to be the English and Science. I would like to get a 30-31 on English and Science and raise my Reading and Math to a 32. How can I go about doing this? I've about exhausted all my Barron's practice tests and ACT Red book ones. I recently ordered PR 1296 as well. What can I do to fine tune those little errors I'm making? Science is especially frustrating for me for unknown reasons(I get As in school)...

For English the best book to jump up quickly is Barron’s 36. And then for both English and Science use the read book to keep practicing.

Practice a lot. PR Cracking ACT, Kaplan and released ACT practice exams are all good sources. Do go over your mistakes and understand them. It’s going to be very tedious at first to go over what you missed, but that’s the only way to get better! My son did about 20 practice exams in the summer. At first his sub scores were all over the place. But after 2 months, we started seeing more stable scores. His actual ACT was very close to what he had in the summer.

Good advice so far. I will get Cracking the ACT asap and go over the English section. Barron’s ACT is pretty bad when it comes to that.

To tell you the truth just look over the sparknotes grammer notes for act. Memorize all of those rules which took me like 1 hour. Then I just took one untimed test and checked the answers explanation even if I was correct except if it was a rly easy question. And when I mean by check actually do it, it will teach you how you have to think to get the right answers. Trust me. Then take one timed test. I did exactly what I told you, took the september act and scored a 35. :)

lilbased

I 'm also interested in UPENN. Do you know if the Dec scores will reach them on time applying for regular decision?

^^ Collegebound, they said December is the last date for regular. Good luck applying!
