I’m applying for the Development Sociology major at cornell but accidentally wrote “Development Studies” once in my essay about why I wanted to study that major. Later on in the essay, I correctly identify the major, but will they hold it against me? I was really specific about the aspects of the program, so it’s not like I recycled this essay or anything.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Applicants are expected to make some mistakes on their apps. If it really concerns you though, email the admissions and ask to change it.
