For my Junior year in High School, I decided to take IB classes to get the IB Diploma. Since I will take 3 IB classes for my Junior year (Spanish, English, Biology), I chose AP Cal BC instead of IB Cal because I heard that universities don’t accept SL Math, and AP is perhaps easier?
Anyway I will take IB Math HL in my Senior year to be able to get the Diploma. Should I take AP Cal BC instead of IB Cal? (I didn’t take AP Cal AB yet :))
Thank you
You need a math IB for the diploma, so if you’re planning on Math HL, then there is no reason to take Calc BC
Math HL will repeat a lot of Calc BC, but they’re not the same, and repetition might make things easier. I don’t know if BC easier than IB Cal, but you’ll have a chance to take the AP exam for college credit. IB, of course, also counts for credit in most schools, but it’s nice to have two shots.
