What're you guys doing for creativity? I've read that some schools don't consider music practice for hours (instrumental, non-compositional) because you're acting something not creating? Who's been procrastinating (40 hrs C before April...)?

Thats unlucky, music is considered creativity at my school. They really don't know much about music. You could try being on the school newspaper staff. Also, graphics design on the computer would be good if your into that kind of stuff.

Just sit in the IB Art room during lunches for a while and make stuff I bet the teacher will sign off on time for you.

I did theatre...although, if music doesn't count at your school...

I do dance (dancing as well as choreographing...), and I'll probably count the hours I spent at a summer program working with a team to design a new product/create a company.

At our school, we emphasize activities that encompass creativity and service, or action and creativity - it doesn't have to be 50 hours creativity, 50 hours service, and 50 hours action. There do, however, have to be 150 hours in total. For example, I volunteer at the local animal shelter. A few times a month, I have to publicize events and stuff - I always take different approaches, whether it's creating posters to put up on school/work bulletins, or taking a bunch of the animals to local hotspots and telling people about the upcoming events regarding the animals. According to my IB adviser, the creativity aspect comes in the form of brainstorming/executing new ideas to publicize the service aspect of it, so I'm killing two birds with one stone in that sense. I just do this twice as often as I would creativity or service alone, and I get 50 hours. Music practice doesn't count for creativity for the same reason that sports practice doesn't count for hours either; it's the recitals and sports games that are actually allowed to be counted for hours.

I was in a mainstage opera, but I've been involved in opera since I was 7. Some people I know who were more or less artistically challenged just volunteered at a local art museum.

For Creativity, I worked on the school Fashion Show.

hopefully you have a really cool IB coordinator/person in charge of CAS...mine wasn't lenient in the beginning and rejected a lot of hours, but then at the last minute accepted anything...really agitated me because I went back and redid a lot of hours...so many wasted saturday afternoons during second semester senior year!

For my creativity portion, i was going to count practicing the viola and viola lessons.
