My school is in Canada and only offers IB courses (no AP). I was in full IB last year but, being the intelligent sophomore that I was (not forward thinking at all, in other words) decided to drop full IB. Now I am only a certificate candidate, instead of a diploma candidate. My IB subjects are social studies, math, chemistry, and biology. I'll write my math and chemistry IB tests this May..
but my real question is, did I screw myself over by dropping full IB? Or will adcoms recognize that IB certificate is also rigorous and engaging...

bump. i really need help. haha

Define "screw myself over".

It probably will have an effect since your counselor may or may not write that you aren't taking the most rigorous courses. Even if you took 4 HLs or however many you're allowed to, you would still be avoiding CAS, TOK and the extended essay. Try to get back into the diploma program.

I think colleges might still give you credit if you took HL subjects and did well in them. But its probably not considered the "hardest course load" you can take, so that might hurt, if you're applying to top schools.

yes, try to get back to Full IB Diploma and it will be a huge plus for your app AND your learning in fact

thank you guys =) i had my meeting with the counsellor on friday and they let me back into the diploma programme!!
