Hey!
I have decided to take SAT Chemistry test. I wanted to know if Chemistry SL (in IB) covers all the material I will need for the SAT II test? I'm thinking of taking SAT Chem in October of 12th grade but if needed I could go for Chemistry HL or just study some of the material by myself... I'm not sure what to do. Do you have any advice?
Thanks :)

Hey!
I am an IB student as well and, just like you, take Chemistry SL. While I haven’t taken the SAT Chemistry test, I have talked to my teacher and to my classmates. Both say the following same things:
-some of the stuff the test covers is not in the IB curriculum for SL, but is in the curriculum for HL (e.g the quantum model of the atoms);
-unlike IB, 25% of the SAT Chem subject test is memorization of different nomenclature names for one and the same compound; (just the nature of the American system)

My friends that planned on taking it (in HL Chem) finally decided to drop the exam from their list and take another one. :)
