Pre-College Issues International Baccalaureate (IB)

<p>I just need advice on my schedule.</p>

<p>I plan to major in biology for pre-med. I'm currently a Sophomore.</p>

<p>I plan to take:</p>

<p>IB Advanced Math HL 2 years
IB Bio HL 2 years
Ib Chem 2 years
IB Spanish SL 1 year
Ib Economics 1 or 2 years
IB English HL 2 years
AP US Government 1 year</p>

<p>I will not take more than 4 HLs. However, I do not know whether to take Chem HL and 1 year SL Econ or Chem SL and 2 years Econ HL. I also have the option to take the Econ test as a senior while doing SL for 2 years.</p>

<p>Suggestions?</p>

<p>For pre-med, I would definitely go with the HL Chem and SL Econ.</p>

<p>If you can handle it, Chem will push you harder where you need to go.</p>

<p>But consider the possibility that you might have an easier time in high school if you do Econ instead. That would look better on your transcript, and get you into better colleges.</p>

<p>But if you’re confident and are simply deciding which courses will be the ones you get an A in next year, go for the gold.</p>

<p>Which is Chemistry.</p>
