IB Courses VS SATs > Need help quickly <

Hello, fellow CCs. My IB application for Gr.11 IB is due in a few days, and so I would like some last minute advice before I make my final decision. Also, I am a Canadian student.

1) SAT Subject Tests-

a) SAT II: Biology:

Is it better to take HL or SL IB bio? I do not want to learn unnecessary details that will not appear on the test, but I am afraid that if I take SL, I will not cover all the concepts needed. Just wondering, which one is better? And do I need to do any additional prep? If so, would you please suggest a few strategies I could use (ie: books, tutors, etc?)

-Note: I hope to take this test as soon as I finish HL/SL Bio. I'm unsure.

b) SAT II: US History:

I've just taken a Gr.11 American history course, but I do not think I am prepared enough for this test. Again, I am just wondering how else to better reinforce my knowledge, and I would be thankful if you could suggest a few.

Ps: I hope to take this before the beginning of gr.11, so that gives us around 7 months (disregarding actual SAT dates).

c) Is it better for you if you take more than 3 SAT IIs? Will it be beneficial at all and will universities have a better impression if you do well?

2) SAT:

a) Mathematics-

I am currently taking a gr.11 functions course. Next year, I will most likely enroll in SL math, but I fear that it is not enough for the SAT. Should I take HL math instead? Will it be more helpful for this section, or is SL math enough? Most importantly, what exactly is the boundary of the math section?

b) Critical Reading and Writing-

These sections confuse me. Is it possible to prep for these sections? If so, could you please suggest a few sites/resource material for me to get started? Also, what concepts and what type of questions may appear in these sections?

-I will take the SAT after my math course, that is if I am ready.

._. sorry for the long post, but thank you in advance!

I think that the content in Biology SL will cover everything in Sat II Biology as well as Math SL will cover Sat Math II. I’m not really sure about Biology since Ib courses are two years long.

I see, thank you for notifying me. :)

SAT Biology - One probably needs AP biology or SL.

SAT US History - AP US history covers it quite well. Only way to figure out if you can do it is buy a book and do a practice test.

SAT Math II - Requires Pre-AP Pre Calculus level of math. SL math is higher than Math II.

SAT I Math - Geometry level class is usually sufficient.

3 or more subject tests - depends on where you are applying and how well you do.
