@My3Kiddos - Good thought. I’ll mention it again. I know he’d love to go to the summer water polo camp at the Naval Academy, but it would be good to do some research to make a decision about how to proceed with the other part. Thanks for your help!
My two cents: ACT 32 is 97th percentile. PSAT 1460 is 99th percentile. I’d definitely consider taking the SAT (and probably also take the ACT again) if he is looking for the highest score he can get.
Thanks @evergreen5 . He took the ACT last June without prep. He usually does well with grammar so I’m not sure what happened but he got a 26 on the English section so that messed up his composite. Hopefully, he has done enough self study this time (I’m not convinced) and he’ll take it again this Saturday. If it doesn’t improve much, he’ll probably shift to the SAT.
University of South Carolina Honors, University of Miami, Tulane would all be good choices for international business or economics majors.
OP, if your S is seriously considering a service appt, he should contact his rep. Ours would send out announcements to the schools announcing a presentation about what is required and how to get in the pool for a nomination. It’s not too late, but it’s definitely a get-it-moving item if he wants that as an option. Senior year is too late in the game to go for it.
There is a service academy secion here on cc…http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/u-s-service-academies/
@CountingDown Thanks! That makes sense to have him look into that now. He needs to do more research to see if it is really something he wants to pursue, but that’s a good idea to go ahead and contact our rep. Thanks for the link too.
