IB for Admissions

Hello CCers!

I have a bit of a problem...I am a rising senior, and due to schedule conflict with my school, I cannot take the last IB SL Course that I need to qualify for the IB diploma.

If nothing else works, I will have taken 5 out of the 6 required courses for the diploma. This means that I will not receive the IB diploma.

My question for you (those who are knowledgable about IB) is as follows:

Does it matter if I do not take the last IB class because then I won't be able to qualify for the diploma? Will colleges look at this negatively?

I know that my school tells colleges that the most rigourous program is the IB, yet I will not be in the program officially.

Also, I cannot drop ASB (because I love it) and MUN (because I like it too, and I'm part of the leadership staff for next year)

My senior year schedule is:

AP Calculus BC (Online)
IB Math SL
English HL 2
History of the Americas HL 2
IB Physics HL 2
AP US Gov't/Comparative Gov't/MUN
ASB (Associated Student Body- School Leadership)
Soccer

Does it matter then?
Please let me know :)

Colleges in the US don’t care about the IB diploma. They’re aware that IB classes are harder than normal classes, and will consider that accordingly, but the actual diploma isn’t really relevant.

IB Math SL is rather pointless if you take AP calculus BC. Either drop IB Math SL, or replace both math courses with IB Math HL. If you can do the latter and add the remaining IB course in the freed schedule slot, then you can complete the IB diploma (though it won’t really matter too much at US colleges and universities).
