IB French IV-B or AP French Lang

This year, my school offers both IB and AP French. I was wondering if it matters which I take. I was planning to take AP French then IB French V-B (senior french no matter which course I take). Does one look better than another? AP French is harder than IB and I think IB will have the better french teacher.

Are you in IB? If not, you probably should take AP French so you can take the AP test since IB will not really prepare you too well for the AP test (at least at my school). I'm in IB French V-B BTW.

Ya, I'm in IB. It'll be my junior year. IB French IV should beeasier since they're making the PIB French 2 IB sophomores (prospective juniors) jump to IB French IV. I'm currently in PIB French 3.

If AP French means you get Wiebe, take IB French.
I sat through one of her AP French classes and the only people who actually learned anything were the native speakers. Everyone else just leeched off the massive curves.

AP French is harder and might get you out of foreign language requirements in college (IB French B SL usually doesn't fly too well). However, if the AP French teacher is truly horrendous, take IB French as a junior. Otherwise, I'd take a year of AP French, and then perhaps go back and do IB French as a senior for your Group 2 subject for the Diploma. After AP French, IB French will be really quite easy.

Take IB French if the teacher will really impact your experience, but ask your teacher to prepare you for the AP exam. Talk to her this year about that prospect, and then study after school every once in a while with her next year. That's how my IB French teacher does it for those who want, so that we can get college credit.
