I'm in Canada so I'd like to know if there is a difference between what grade in HL and SL courses in IB convert to.
and how hard is it to get a 7 in IB? I've been recommended to take IB by both my grade nine math teacher, grade ten English teacher, and the IB coordinator. Also, my English teacher distributed my essays and stories to the IB teachers and they were really amazed and even talked about their efforts to get me into IB to his pre-ib class :D and i learned that from a student in the class not any of the teachers

sorry for my rant but that's all i have to be proud of :( no big awards and what not at my school

I'm not sure I understand your question. Your grade out of 7 for the HL/SL courses is based mainly on your IB exam, marked by the IBO. Classwork counts for a small part of the mark (e.g. For science courses, 24% of your mark is labwork, while 76% is your exam)

As for how hard it is to get a 7, my understanding is that IB marks on a worldwide curve; so, a certain percentage of the people in the world writing the test will get a 7, a certain percentage will get 6, and so on.

As for what shows up on your report card at school, this will vary from school to school. As official IB marks aren't released until July, I don't know of schools that do a "conversion" from the 7-scale to either a letter or percent grade. They may assign you a grade based on your work on the provincial curriculum (since the IB curriculum often overlaps certain areas of the provincial curriculum, and often both must be covered to receive both diplomas.)
