IB Language Orals -- How much do they count for your score?

How much does the oral affect your overall grade? I just had my French IB SL oral (oh, the relief of having it over with!) but I'm also a little worried because I did not do as well as I hoped.

I misunderstood one of the questions she asked me (and it was an easy question too, I don't know how I completely bombed it). I also paused a lot...I couldn't find the right words to use at all during the interaction cuz I sort of just, freaked out. Having the mic in front of me did not help my nerves at all.

Is it possible to still get a 6 or a 7 as my overall grade if I didn't do well on the oral? What is the requirement for getting a 5, 6, or 7 on an SL language exam? (like getting 90% of the points for the IAs + written exam) Anyone know?

Isn't it 20% IA and 80% EA?

its standard level, so 30% oral, 40% paper1 and then 30% paper2.

i had my mine too. it was fun.

i actually dominated my higher level spanish oral. And I don't speak a word of spanish.

Ask your teacher. IB doesn't publish that info as far as I know.

^It sure does. It's in the syllabus for each subject.

To the OP, the grade boundaries for each grade is different for every subject and changes every exam session.
But in most cases, 85+ will get you a 7.
In the more difficult subjects (e.g. Physics/Math HL), you might only need 75+.

Tell me how to find these syllabi then, because I would freaking love to have that information.

I'm pretty sure the boundary for a 7 is higher than a 75% in Math HL. I think it hovers around 80% most years. Physics is lower, too.
