<p>OMG. it hasn't been 24 hours yet, but christ paper one was ridiculous. Easily the hardest paper i've ever seen. Who endured the suffering? Any breakdowns? There were some people crying during the exam, and I started laughing the last few minutes at how futile it was.</p>
<p>I thought the May 08 exam was kind of bad, but it was nothing compared to this. Apparently the Europeans had it a lot easier.</p>
<p>The test for SL was not any easier, a lot of people were also crying in the examination room. I couldn’t believe that this test was made by the people who made last year’s exam.</p>
<p>So much for my 6 or 7 in Math :(</p>
<p>I don’t know what was going through the minds of the exam makers. They really outdid themselves this year.</p>
<p>I heard SL was easy this year… ugh… I’m Math HL. Hopefully the exam next year will be easier</p>
<p>I heard Studies was a joke, but everyone said SL was really hard. Apparently a ton of people left two questions totaling 35 points at the end blank. I left 32 points on Section B blank >_<</p>

i was on the track to take MS, couldn’t this year because of exam scheduling. i don’t see any reason to take Math SL, because both MS and Math will get me jack shyt in college credit.</p>

<p>Yes in response to the studies test, my friend was explaining to me how they had “true or false?” style questions, and another one was basically a vocabulary question.</p>
<p>SL was definitely not easy, hopefully the graduated scale will be generous.</p>
<p>God, that test was brutal… WTH is arctan(.5)!!! and 13 part b? I completely left it blank… I hope they curve it. My friends are scared they’ll get a 2 or lower and won’t get the diploma.</p>
<p>you don’t actually evaluate arctan(1/2) but take the tangent of it so you receive 1/2
the problem required using angle subtraction formulas for tangent</p>

<p>Well, I have the option of taking either SL or HL next year. I was leaning towards HL because I’m really strong in math, but you guys are scaring me haha.</p>

<p>The Math HL Paper 1 and Paper 2 was SUICIDE! I was looking at question 12 in Paper 2 and crying my eyes out since it was for 18 marks- I couldn’t figure it out at all, since my teacher said circles wouldn’t come, my ENTIRE HL class was stumped.
DO NOT TAKE Math HL, it is THE *****. By the end of my exam, I was crying and laughing like a crazed woman!
That’s the thing about IB Math HL, it doesn’t really TEACH you how to solve problems by using methods and structure coz every single problem seems like a grapple in the dark, anything could work, every single problem in the paper is extremely complex (to even the above average high school math student) and most of the problems I managed to solve were more a stroke of brilliance and luck than because I REALLY KNEW HOW to solve the problem.</p>
<p><strong>Think very very very carefully when you decide to take Math HL. It could cost you your WHOLE IB diploma.</strong></p>
<p>Wrote Paper 2. It wasn’t nearly as bad, but it was still pretty bad.</p>

<p>■■■■. may 2009 HL P2 was SOOOOOO hard. I want to cry. I didn’t know how to do anything. Even the differntiation and intergration questions were like impossible. WHERE WERE THE VECTORS AND COMPLEX NUMBERS??? I STUDIED FOR THAT!!! ****. I’m so screwd. </p>
<p>I didn’t actually finr paper 1 that hard. Certainly miles easier than paper 2. Hopefully that’ll save me. And i now have to own paper 3. Which is not gonna happen since I don’t get stats. ■■■. I really need a 5.</p>

I hated how the integral of cos^2 (x) wormed its way into paper 2 twice… that’s something like 6 marks off for not knowing how to do 1 type of integrals.</p>
