Given that there isn't a separate IB board on CC, I thought posting here would be appropriate....

Anyone else testing out of IB? Only 2 weeks till tests start....

I’m a junior and I’m taking the Mathematics SL test. Hopefully I pass so I can move on to college Calculus next year. I feel bad for the seniors who have all the rest of the tests to take at once… at least you guys have an idea of where your going to college next year.

Good luck :)

Yay an IB thread. I’ll try to keep it afloat I’m taking 4 exams and I need to seriously cram for two of them.
@nlittlepoole: What are you doing to prepare for the Math SL test, I’m pretty confident but I’d love to hear some tips. Also if you’re taking it as a junior why don’t you take HL next year that’s what I’m doing.

What tests are you guys taking? I’m testing out of all 6 subjects this year… In addition to 5 APs… Damn it!

Lol… problematical, I’m taking the HL exam in two weeks

Ib math sl
ib english hl
ib german hl
ib env systems sl
ib history hl

Wish you all the best and tons of luck. Especially to the HL Math folks. :D

I am taking the exams next year:
HL Math
HL English A1
HL Spanish B
HL History
SL Chemistry
and sl native language

And don’t burn your brains out. You should be adequate for college and, especially in the US, the IB doesn’t really matter that much when it comes down to admissions. The extra credit…I wouldn’t even use provided that I get 7s in my HLs. :D

^^^problematical
My school doesn’t offer HL math or science or else I would have taken that as a junior. I’m moving on to college level Calc II and Calc III classes at the University of Pittsburgh. I’m preparing by studying previous test, my math teacher has copies of both parts for the last 10 exams. So I’m just doing them over and over again to get familiar with the test.

To everyone else taking HL good luck. All my other IB classes this year are HL and I wish you guys luck. Luckily for me I only have to do IA’s right now and not exams in my HL classes since I’m a junior.

Given the growing popularity of the IB, I’d think CC would think about adding an IB forum…

I’m taking French B SL this year, and taking the following next year:
Maths HL
Econ HL
History HL
English A1 HL
Physics SL

Next month I’m taking:
English A1 HL
Math HL
Economics HL
Spanish B SL
Physics SL
Chemistry SL

Next month im taking:
Chem SL
APUSH.

My Chem teacher has covered 5 out of 11 topics. We are SO screwed!!! Help anyone?!
Similarity, my apush teacher is new this year, has no idea what were doing, & we are still at the progressive era. Luckily I like history & have managed to do sufficient self studying.

I’m just so screwed for Chem!!! ):

Get the Pearson’s Baccalaureate IB Chemistry SL textbook and the Geoffrey Neuss’ StudyGuide and self-teach yourself the material. The books are amazing - well-laid-out info and tons of real IB Questions.

Geoffrey Neuss is the IB Chemistry God and former Chief Examiner.
Catrin Brown, the author of the textbook, is the current deputy chief examiner.
