Hey I'm new to the forum :) And I don't know very much about US universities, or whether or not this is right spot to be posting this

I have been trying to search for a conversion of Ontario high school grades to GPA, but I've gotten a dozen different results and it's really frustrating me... I'd also like to know how GPA works and what it represents.

I'm a grade 11 IB student in Ontario, so I will be getting an Ontario diploma and a IB diploma

I have a 92% for the Ontario curriculum, and although we don't have actual rankings and percentile calculations at my school, based on what I've been hearing from my guidance councilor: I am in the top 10%, possibly the top 5%.

I am not at all sure of what I'll be getting as my IB score, but it will likely be a combination of 5s, 6s, and 7s (yes I know that isn't at all a good indication, sorry I just don't know)

I have yet to take my SAT, but I took 2 subject tests (SATII) as practice and got 780 (Physics) and 750 (Math II)

So basically I'd like to know what GPA is
What a 92% translates to in GPA
Or what IB score I would need for a 4.0 GPA (unweighted)
And whether or not I should bother going to the US
Edit: as in whether or not I will be accepted in a good US college (better than Mcgill/U of T)

THANKS! :D

Edit 2: Also according to the Ontario curriculum I'm getting all A's... but I believe our A's are very different from the US ones
