Hello CC,
I’m almost done with freshman year! YOHOO:)
Should I just take a bunch of APs or should I be in the IB program(as a junior)? I’m aiming high.(plz don’t tell me that it’s hard and stuff cuz I already know).
I wanna attend one of the top 50 colleges(UCs preferably).
IB- well-rounded education that is always considered the most rigorous by universities. Lots of APs can become one-sided, and in my opinion more stressful. After taking AP and IB exams, I personally think IB exams are “easier,” they just involve more writing.
And in IB, you can choose higher level and standard level classes to fit your strengths, whereas in AP they’re all the same and if you’re not as strong in a subject you’re taking the same class and exam as someone who excels.
But if you do IB, good luck. It’s rough. Lots of extra requirements, but pays off in the long run.

Thanks for responding!
What are some of the requirements?
@Asaltb
Extra papers (EEs, IAs, etc), assessments (IOP, IOC, etc) and a required class (TOK). I would definitely look it up because the Internet could probably explain them much better than I can
But what I can say is that you have all of that, on top of traditional coursework. And also, many schools have you take the AP exam for the IB class, but you can’t do it the other way around. Another incentive for at least trying IB. And you can always drop it.
