Ib Or Ap?

So we've all been faced with the question...which is more academically rigorous..IB or AP?

I'm an AP student, but I think IB is more rigorous. However, the title of an AP class or IB class is weighed the same in admissions

Ib............

No competition, AP wins. IB is just a class; AP is a way of life.

I have the same question; answered "IB" on it.

I was wondering if there was a way for me to take IB classes somewhere online or outside of school (my school doesn't offer the program).

I took APs when I went to school, and my son took IB. Since I would go over my son's IB homework with him after he finished it, I'm able to compare the two.

I'd definitely say IB is the more difficult.

Hey...I'm a fellow IB student going into Junior year.

IB is more difficult, but I think IB is more worth it because it is known more internationally...and colleges like Johns Hopkins recognize IB and give you credit for it.

why are you posting this in what are my chances?

This is where all the people look

What is IB? I've seen so many people talk about it.

International Baccalaureate? I think? Might've spelled it wrong.

IB is probably more useful internationally, but in the US all the hype seems to be about AP testing. Which is fine with me. Seems like a 5 is less intimidating than trying to get a 7..

"No competition, AP wins. IB is just a class; AP is a way of life.

Did you mix up the two? In reality,
AP is just a class. IB is a way of life.

An IB student myself, I'm inclined to agree with windslicer. However, in the U.S. I'm fairly certain that AP is more nationally recognized, and that some of the top colleges in the U.S. still don't recognize IB. A shame if you ask me...it isn't exactly a walk in the park.

Agreed, you have to spend all 4 (or 3) years with the same kids...

Actualy it's 2 :)

^exactly. All those myp and stuff are BS. Yay I survived my junior year of IB... I hope I can survive whats left ( IAs, EE, CAS diaries....we've got work to do)...

Also, there is no "AP Diploma"

Guess your school doesn't have pre-ib =/

pre-IB is absolute BS..I did it and I honestly thnk it was a waste of time, especially that MYP project
