I haven’t scheduled it with my counselor yet, but I am thinking about taking both IB Physics and AP Chem my Junior year of High School. Anyone have any thoughts or input on this decision?

There are many people in my grade who are taking both AP Chem and IB Physics this year or AP Bio and IB Physics. Are you a junior? We are. I am taking AP Bio and IB Physics, it is definitely possible to do but it takes a lot of hard work, I a mean A LOT. You are going to have to work hard, stay focused and dedicated,and you are going to have to be willing to loose a bit a sleep, though. Only do what you feel comfortable with, but it a great choice in terms of college apps because it show you selected a rigorous schedule.
@IvyCupcake78 Yes I am a junior this year. I heard that IB Physics isn’t THAT hard, especially compared to ap Chem. Thank you for the info though!
No problem. I am a junior and I have been in school for 5 weeks now. IB Physics is not that complicated as long as you apply yourself. There is a lot of work that comes with it, as well as frequent quizzing and tests, but that is only according to the school. For review for IB Physics, there is this professor on YouTube who has over 90 videos on the IB Physics SL course and they really come in handy and corelate with the teachers’ lessons. Hope this helps

Alright so I realize that this is on the opposite end of the subject spectrum, but this year I am taking both IB HL History and AP US Government. Taking two similar classes has really helped me make connections and get deeper into the subject material, and I would think that taking your two classes together would have the same result. I often do the homework at the same time, draw links between the subjects, and it’s encouraged me to pursue a field that I love.
@awesomepolyglot my school started on August 2nd. Thanks! I am doing really well so far, the classes aren’t bad at all, I just need to set aside more time for studying than I did previously, but I enjoy studying, so no foul play there.
