<p>Probably because they realize it isn't any more rigorous than AP.</p>

<p>IB acceptance rates, according to the IBO, are on par with other academic programs at Stanford.</p>

<p>like i said, not necessarily as difficult in terms of content, but in terms of sheer volume, and yes-- bureaucracy-- more time consuming, and in the long run, more stressful. IB takes away more time from other things than does AP. it's a bigger load. not harder-- BIGGER, and an accomplishment in its own right.
colleges should perhaps not give additional consideration to strictly IB students, but should to those who have done both AP and IB, as opposed to one or the other</p>
