Ib Program

it seems that everyone on this forum are taking AP courses... anyone else taking IB like me?

raises hand

I also take IB.

i take ap and ib but ib is better

I take IB and took 2 AP courses...I think IB gives teachers so much leeway that the quality can't be guaranteed. Personally, I haven't had a very good IB experience.

hell yeah. IB is where its at. i hated it while i was doing it, but getting that letter saying 45 made up for it.

IB is a lot more prestigious because it has international recognition. There is nothing that an american high school graduate can do with the plain "high school diploma" anywhere in the world. It means very little. AP is not a degree either, just advanced college courses to get credit (or try to ) while attending a university. An IB diploma, would be the equivalent academically as taking all AP courses during your high school years ( and the ivies see it as such ). I would go IB anytime !

I'm doing IB diploma as well, but take AP courses as electives and sometimes take the corresponding AP exam for my IB courses in addition.

I'm in an IB diploma program and wouldn't choose anything else.

BEST choice I have made in my academic career. ^_^

dunc, you got 45?!??!
that's pretty awesome, i think you're my hero now.

why thank you. I hope Harvard feel the same.

Yes but isnt getting a 45 useless because you would have already applied to colleges?

not if you take a gap year. and 45 obviously wasnt enough coz i got deferred.

wow dunc, i'm a bit surprised. 45 is no easy feat...
but i guess it's just like the 2400 SAT score, not necessarily a shoo-in. :S
