IB Program

I am a jounior in the IB Program at my school, and I'm wondering does the IB Program give you an upper hand in College Applications. I have strait A's and my ACT scores is 29, but will the IB Program give me a better chance into getting into, lets just say, an Ivy League then someone who has the same grades but not in IB?

I'm a graduating IB Diploma Senior and I can say without a doubt that the IB Diploma helped me get into the college of my choice and many of my friend's colleges as well. Next year, I will be attending Claremont McKenna College which is on par with the Ivy League as far as selectivity and I have friends attending UPenn, CMC, Cornell, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, and Northwestern. The IB Diploma program is amazing and will help you get into the college of your choice as long as you have the EC's, recs, essays, and scores to back it up haha

Getting straight A's in IB classes should definately help. I'm not sure how your school does grading, but out of the 20 people in my IB class, we have 4 going off to ivies, and several more going to similarly selective schools. None have straight A's (although some are pretty close). I would, however, try to get your ACT up, because IMO it looks a little fishy to have all A's and a 28 ACT, unless you just are a bad standardized test taker.

Heres my two cents: I am going for my IB diploma and it looks like ill get it but im just really burnt out and i have only taken paper 1 for my english test and paper 1&2 for my hist test. I think(well i hope) that I'll realize its benefits later in college when i see how it helped me but right now I can't really see the point I just want to graduate and go on.
Well IB does force you to do somethings and could be a benefit but taking the fulll diploma was not a good idea, i was really motivated up to the end of last year then i just go tired of all the crap. Ill get my diploma(im pretty sure) but by then im already in college and have already registered for classes.
If it matters im going to Cal next year, it was my top choice b/c i didnt feel like leaving cali or paying alot for my undergrad. So i didnt apply to many other colleges, i think i would have gotten in but iono.

Under 7 minutes is a pretty tough requirement for a regular gym class. I can see that for an aerobics class or something, but regular PE?

Anyway you should've protested those grades when you got them. It's ridiculous that they hold you to that standard when you have asthma and it's medically unsafe for you to even push yourself like that. If you get another B in gym because of mile runs, get your doctor/parents to interfere...

thanks for the input everyone
