I am in my school's IB programme, but I also want to take AP tests. I was thinking about AP Macro/Microeconomics, Psychology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and Physics B (The reason I want to do the science APs is because the science class I took my freshman year made it so that I couldn't do any other science but Biology for my sophomore, junior, and senior year). Would it be bad for me to take the AP tests? And if I were to take the AP tests, would it be possible to take through a school other than my own? Thank you :)

If these APs aren’t offered in your IB programme, and you think you’ll have time to study for them, then go right ahead! I can’t see how taking AP tests in addition to IB exams would hurt you, although I don’t think it’ll help you much in terms of admission. I’m not sure on how self-studying AP works, but if you can get in contact with the school that you want to take them through, you’ll probably want to ask how their testing works.

well if you know that you aren’t a good IB tester, you should take AP if you’re intending to get credit later in college. IB scores withing 5-7 scores are usually accepted for credit as well I believe. If you plan on going to top school, they’ll take 7’s only, but you can go in their website and make sure what IB scores they accept.
