I want to drop out of IB english and IB history, but my counselor is telling me to stay. Would it be a good idea if I dropped out of IB and took it easy my senior year. I know i will get a C or a B in both classes, so should i take regular and get an A. Please answer my question and any other questions I have

How do you know you're going to do badly in the class? Just stick with it. You can't count your chickens before the eggs are hatched.

I jsut dont feel like I belong in that class, theres like 80 percent girls and I am pretty shy so I dont like to raise my hand and interact with the class. Plus someitmes I dont have a clue whats going on

Are you an IB diploma candidate? If yes, you would be giving up your diploma. What are your college goals? Does your high school have honors or AP classes? It is not usually a good idea to "take it easy" your senior year. Have you talked to your counselor about the impact on your college apps? Definitely do that before making a decision.

Im not taking diploma i only have ib english and history, I dont know im sooooo confused theres like only 3 asians in ib and 2 of htem leaving, leaving me the only asian lol

Is that seriously the issue? Then definitely stick with it. You shouldn't settle for anything less than your best. IB courses are great opportunities. Not taking advantage of them would just be silly.

No that isnt the issue tehres alot of stuff plus that its pretty hard, alot of class interaction, oral commentary, presentations, alot of reading, tehres so much stuff plus i think the highest grade i can get is a B most likely a C. Possibly getting an F, but unlikely. Is it worth the time and effort my senior year

If you're unwilling to push yourself now, how are you going to push yourself in college?

If you are not a diploma candidate, the loss is not that great if you drop. Does your HS offer AP? Colleges do like to see that you challenge yourself senior year.

^^

Diamond, I was unwilling to push myself in Middle school, but pushed myself in high school so obviously that must do something, lol..

If it were me, I'd drop out, but that's just who I am. But I'd still take something challenging.

And I don't see it as necessarily pushing yourself, but, my thing is, I'm not going to take up my time working my butt off to get a C my senior year, and that could be time for me to study for other classes. That's just me.
