IB scores and admissions?

Hi,

Can colleges rescind an acceptance if the students fails to get a certain number of IB points or the IB diploma?

IB scores are only used for placement at this point. In the vast vast vast majority of cases, no, you will not be rescinded for low IB points or failing to get the diploma. Never heard of that happening, and the general consensus around here is that it simply won’t happen ever.

Some of the British schools make admission contingent on getting certain IB scores. I would not be surprised if US colleges didn’t start doing that for those that they offer scholarships for merit.

When I spoke with the Harvard admissions officer, he told me you had to get between 39-45 points at the end of your senior year to be accepted.
This means 6-7 on all tests and completion of CAS, EE and TOK.
I don’t know if he was saying the truth or being sarcastic.
