Haha thanks; that relieves a tiny bit a stress I’m not good with the whole writing under pressure business I hate timed essays! But seems like the general consensus is that there is enough time so maybe my hopes for a 6/7 aren’t dashed! :)

@ Sci-Fry =O 45 points!!! That’s incredible!! lol, but yeah, it’s not really that fair that colleges up here don’t really accept IB as much as international schools do That’s why I’m planning on applying to a couple English schools too. England’s just slightly cooler and is home to my favorite soccer team :D

Congratz to everyone that got their diplomas! :)

Did anyone else take the SL Chem test? I’ve been too afraid to actually check my score; paper 2 severely kicked my butt. I aced all of my other IB classes this year but I struggled sooo much in Chem.

^ I took SL Chem and I agree that paper 2 was a little bit unusual. There were some unconventional questions and I picked a bad section B question! Then again, if you’re in the US then you will have taken the TZ1 paper, whereas I took TZ2.

@JacMEpp987:
I took SL Chem, and got a 4, which I’m really quite happy with, considering my school doesn’t teach the class (just Honors Chem) so you pretty much have to self-teach all of the IB material.

Sci-Fry- I am in the US but I’m guessing they were similar because our Paper 2 was also really odd. Certain questions I had absolutely no idea how to answer, which really bothers me; I had trouble in the class but not enough that I didn’t know how to answer at least part of a question. Not much can be done now, though. Hopefully the other parts picked me up enough to pass. Congratulations on your perfect scores! :D

Xandra- Congratz! I’m hoping for a 4 but I’m just too afraid to look. I was in a similar situation in that I had to teach myself all of the material. My teacher gave us the books, assigned homework and labs and then gave tests every four classes. I learned more from my classmates than my teacher. I’m curious, how did you take the IB Chem test even though the specific IB Chem class wasn’t it available? Why didn’t they force you into a class the school did offer, such as Bio or Physics?

You should look! I was scared too, but my curiosity got the better of me!:). In answer to your question, I took IB Chem because although my school “technically” doesn’t offer it as a class, they would, save for the facts that 1.) Almost everyone takes the 2yr IB Bio class, so not as many can take the IB Chem and 2.) Not enough people want to take the IB Chem class even if they can, because they plan on taking IB Physics Senior yr and just take Honors Chem. So every year, we get around 7 people like me who don’t want to take IB Bio because we have little interest in science related careers, and cannot fit IB Physics into our schedules. These people are allowed to take IB Chem (SL only), but the school makes a big point of saying that we have to learn the extra material not mandated by CA Chem standards on our own. They basically give us books and say “go study”. That’s the simplest explanation.:)

^
They care about IB if you go to an IB only school and there are no other courses offered. It’s their substitute for the AP, when there is nothing else to substitute it with. Personally, I think IB is harder with TOK, EE etc.

I’m a rising senior doing the full IB diploma. I just received my predicted scores (44 in a school with grade deflation) that will be sent to the universities and will count for everything on the transcript (like I said IB-only).

The grade above just got their results: one 45, one 44, many 43s.

OP: There is a site that focuses primarily on IB, so CC isn’t your only source of IB news, seeing as it’s so limited. ([IB Survival](http://www.ibsurvival.com/)) They have a whole thread set aside for IB score discussion. If you’re still in the program, you could defiantly use that site for next year.

^IB Survival is probably the most resourceful in terms of finding information, sample essays etc. I also found the IB subforum on The Student Room to be quite helpful, and generally more active than IB Survival.

oye. IB scores. I’m soooo screwed. I’m full IB and I have to take all 6 of my tests next year…including 4 (or 5) AP tests…so much for a fun senior year :/

I honestly couldnt believe my scores, but I got higher than even my predicted heading off to Ross, got rejected from wharton after being deferred ED
