<p>I’m also applying, but you should put a bit more detail down. Your academics look fine, but did you have any leadership positions other than the Race for Cure? What are your major interests/extracurricular/whatever grouped together? A “spike” that sets you apart? Music is obviously one, but the rest looks like a disparate jumble right now. Looking at what you’ve put, I can’t really tell what exactly you care for other than music. My two are music and Chinese. Music I have numerous awards, president of orchestra, principal player for viola, summer camps, etc. Chinese I have awards, officer position in CHS, Go club VP, etc. So list it like that (for the common application too) and I think you’ll be a lot more interesting to the admissions officer. </p>

<p>Sounds good - but don’t expect to get much IB credit. Northwestern only takes HL test scores, so you’ll only get 3 or 4 max, AND you have to do really well. </p>
<p>Also, no offense, but you sound a little typical. A lot of people at Northwestern might fit that profile - but what <em>else</em> do you do? Remember that Northwestern sees a lot of great students, but to swing the application in your favor, make sure that you are <em>exceptional</em>.</p>
<p>agreed, you’re a very cookie cutter applicant. Maybe do some more research about studying abroad opportunities at NU, many students study abroad during their 4 years. Bring out the X factor in your essays. You’re academically good enough though.</p>
