IB subjects for an international relations major

I go to an IB school abroad and I want to major in international relations at UPenn. I want to apply to the Huntsman Program, with international relations at CAS as my backup. My subject choices, at the moment, are:
Math HL
Economics HL
History HL
English SL
Chemistry SL
French SL
I would have taken an HL language but you have to have experience in the language beforehand. The foreign language I've been learning for the past four years is Spanish, and my school doesn't offer HL. Would this be okay for international relations? And is my courseload difficult enough? I also need to know how much it would help to take a fourth HL, since I want to go to such a competitive school.
Thanks in advance :]

Bump??? :)

I think it is good that you are doing economics and especially history higher level. The math higher level shows that you are highly capable. If you are starting a new language and taking standard level instead of ab initio, you are definitely challenging yourself. I wouldn’t worry about your subject choices, just concentrate on your CAS activities and other ways that you may stand out from the other applicants. Essays will be very important. Good luck and remember there are many great schools where you can study international relations and many schools appreciate the IB diploma.

I’m an IB diploma student and I want to major in international relations, but my school is very small (11 in my graduating class) and they only offer ab initio french. Will this hurt my chances? Or will adcoms understand that there was no option for me? I went on french exchange to Paris for 3 months and would have been comfortable with French SL, but it wasn’t an option. I’m planning on taking the SAT II French subject test, will a high score there help?
