Ib thread

I have been in the IB-MYP program for 3 years. (Current Freshman)

I would just really love to hear anyone's story who graduated from IB or is currently in the Diploma Program. Stuff about CAS, IB Tests, Classes?

Don't plan on quitting but sometimes I just wonder....Is it worth it?

I am a diploma-er…my school has IB classes (you can take some, or you can do the full diploma) for Jrs and Srs. I am a junior right now, taking 6 IBs and 1 AP (math). I really like it, actually. Overall, you learn a lot, and it is a good choice.

I am currently a junior in IB and it really isn’t as tough as everybody says it is. There are some rough days when you question why you chose to be in IB but overall it isn’t too bad. I actually think IB is easier than AP but that might just be my opinion. I think its pretty worth it. I used to question if it was worth it just as you are doing right now. Many colleges look to say that you too the hardest curriculum that your school had to offer and IB definitely impresses some colleges (so I’ve heard). Also, many people have said that once you get to college after haven taken IB courses makes college a whole lot easier. Any further questions just feel free to ask me.

Whether it is worth it depends on what the alternative choices are? E.g. how rigorous are your high school’s non-IB courses? What IB subjects are offered at HL, as opposed to just SL? These are questions you need to ask.
