<p>I'm wondering which a college would prefer, AP Spanish 6 & 7 or IB Spanish 6 & 7.
I couldn't take an AP/IB Spanish class until now, and the rest of my classes are AP. In my school, both classes are taught in the same room, but the IB students get more work.</p>
<p>I just thought that in IB, I could take both final tests and learn more than just AP.
But then I wondered if a college would dislike the fact that I took all AP and just one IB.</p>
<p>They wouldn’t be upset, at least not in my opinion. I think that they probably thought you found something more challenging in the IB course that wasn’t in the AP course. Isn’t it called 7-8? There is no IB Spanish 6-7. It’s 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10.</p>
<p>It’s not a dual class, I would take Spanish 6 next year and Spanish 7 senior year.</p>
<p>Oh! You guys do yours way differently. I was noticing that here b/c some people take TOK for 1 semester jr. yr. and 1 semester sr. year. We finish TOK jr. year at our school.</p>

<p>Im taking mostly IB classes in my school… its really torture. My school eliminated most of all of the AP classes. The only one left is AP statistics. I’d say you should take IB spanish, but if your taking harder classes just take AP. IB spanish is a lot of work i don’t know if its all worth it. Are you considering a profession with spanish??</p>
<p>IB is relatively easy for me. It’s just we get sooooooooooo much work from ALL of our classes. Spanish isn’t too bad. Well, our teacher is picky, but she’s a great teacher.</p>
<p>Is the teacher different for each syllubus? I’d find out which teacher you would prefer. Also, what each curriculum consists of, like one focuses on situational things, while the other focuses on structure/grammer.</p>
<p>If the IB would be an HL, I say take it. If it’s an SL…consider them both.</p>
<p>IB Spanish is pure evil! But the exam is surprisingly not that bad…</p>
<p>^^^ Everyone at my school says that. I don’t get it. Well, I guess b/c if you write over a letter (ex: changing an e to an o), she takes off points. If she can’t see the accent, points off. If it’s not PERFECT, she takes points off.</p>
<p>OP–Don’t you have to be enrolled in the IB program to take an IB class? At my daughter’s school she was enrolled in an IB language class offered at the neighboring school, but because she was not enrolled in the IB program (not offered at her school), it was not labeled as IB on her transcript. The teacher wasn’t AP trained, so it couldn’t be called AP either; she did take the AP test. Anyway, you may not really have the option of choosing.</p>
