IB vs. AP

I was wondering, do Universities in the US value AP more than IB.

What I'm trying to say is, would an AP student likely get in a university ahead of me an IB student. Anybody with any facts about this?

Most colleges say they consider AP and IB to be equal. Just make sure that when your counselor fills out your recommendation, he/she says you took the most rigorous courseload available, whether that is AP or IB at your school.

If you want to get credit for AP/IB exams, look at individual colleges’ websites since they have different policies on how much credit they give.

Thanks. Just wanted to know something else. Will schools convert my IB score into a GPA or will they leave it as it is. For example a 36 out of 42 would be equal to about a 3.4 GPA. Is that in anyway fair on my behalf?
