I am not doing the IB diploma offered at my school because there were some electives I wanted to take that wouldn't have been possible with the IB schedule and classes my high school offers. Because of this, my rank has moved back to number five. I am annoyed because some of the classes I am in that are split with IB count as a 6.0 class for them and only a 4 or 5.0 class for me. Is this the case at most schools? The IB program at my school allows them to take seven 6.0 classes (we only have seven classes) so there isn't really a way for me to make up ground unless all IB kids' grades start dropping at the same time.

We don’t have an IB program, but no, that doesn’t seem fair if they’re the exact same content or if they’re one class with a mixed population. If, though, they’re separate classes and taught differently and just share a title, there might be a rationale.
