IBanking from Princeton

Hi,

I tried the search feature, but it wasn´t working for me, so I´m trying this. Can someone tell me whats needed from Princeton if you want to go into IBanking at top firms? Specifically regarding GPA and major. Also, what pay can one expect?

Thanks

Bump? Anyone?

Not for nothing, but I think you are pretty much set coming out of Princeton.

Pay, depending on the firm and the market (and assuming you are in the city) should be right around $50,000 to $60,000 not including bonus. Maybe more, maybe less.

Nothing in particular is needed from Princeton. They recruit from all majors. For quant jobs, ORFE majors are particularly interesting, but not exclusively so. For general IBanking jobs, any major is fine (including Humanities).

GPA cutoff depends on the Bank. If you get 3.8+, then you don’t have to worry about what GPA is good enough since yours will be.

Base pay for first year analyst is 70,000 + 10,000 sign on/relocation bonus @ BBs.
Bonus varies based off of performance and size of bonus pool.

high GPA, no particular major but something like econ would help. Pay in banking is pretty standard across the board, 70+10 sounds about right, but that number doesn’t include bonus.

Sorry if this question has been asked and answered, but any major is really okay? Do they look for performance on prior Econ courses? (Would it hurt to Pass/Fail an Econ course?)

Other majors are acceptable in the sense that they wouldn’t definitely shut you out of OCI. However, economics is best, especially in this economy.
