IBanking + LACs

What are the prospects in IBank for students of top LACs? I'll be attending Pomona College in the fall, and was wondering if companies still recruit (since LACs typically don't have business programs)? Thanks!

Places like Amherst, Bowdoin, Williams, Swarthmore etc have great ibanking recruitment. Don't know about the west coast.

Ibanks recruit anyone, even state colleges such as Ohio State. You usually get a handful of overachieving kids who just don't have enough money for Tier 1 LAC's or Ivy Doctorals who are gifted in numbres. The question you should be asking more is, is my major or course of study or work experience competitive/necessary for investment banking... although philosophy/bio/physics majors get in too. Not too sure about forestry/fishing majors though.

Anyway, your college career office will know. Or go look up some guides or college reviews: vault.com

I've heard the COMPLETE opposite. State schools on the level of OSU might only get a handful of their hundreds and hundreds of b-school students into i-banking, while prestigious privates can get kids into i-banking regardless of their majors.

i am from ohio state , and i know only 6 ppl out of the 2000 are able to get jobs at IBs .. its a pretty bad scene as far as IB recruiting goes

Well, if you look from a bank's perspective, Harvard or Williams will likely have a much higher percentage of excellent prospects than Ohio State (i.e. they can make one stop for their recruiting needs vs. multiple.)
