IC Audition in four days!

the thing about Ithaca is that there are three slots on their audition sheet.
1) accept
2) defer
3) deny
to be accepted u must blow there mind!! to be defered they must be interested and to be denied you just have to have a bad audition.

I wouldn't say a "bad" audition necessarily...Lee Byron makes it clear in his orientation speech before the audition that they see many more talented kids than they have places for, and some talented kids who they just don't think are a good match for Ithaca College. There are a lot more factors in being accepted (to any program) than simply having a good or bad audition.

jan 28 i think

did anyone audition at the new york unifieds and hear yet?

Along the same lines as the last post...

Anyone audition at Chicago Unifieds and know anything yet?? LoL

or in LA? Though I'm assuming that New York will hear first... Didn't they say they didn't send stuff out until April, anyway?

well, people have heard from them plus they are a rolling school so we should hear before then

I was in LA and I haven't heard... they said we'll find out by April, but since they're a rolling school who finished auditions three weeks ago, we should find out soon I'm guessing.

I don't believe Ithaca is a rolling school. My D was at the first audition in the fall and they told us then not to expect to hear anything until mid-March.

Actually, Ithaca has rolling admissions (modified rolling):

http://www.ithaca.edu/admission/faqs.php?action=viewq&faqcat_id=1&faq_id=42

"Ithaca follows a modified rolling admission review process and begins notifying candidates of decisions in January. "

Many students have already been notified.

Becuase of that, Ithaca I think just does whatever they want. If they really like you, they'll tell you flat out, if they don't think your right for the program, they tell you flat out, and if they wanna wait and see how you compare with other canidates, they wait until March to tell you.

Ohh and i double checked, Ithaca's last audition date was March 4th in NYC. So I'm guessing we'll find out next week.

drum87, did you audition on the 4th in NYC? I ask because an older friend of my D's did, and I have my fingers crossed for her. I don't know it she has heard or not, but it sure sounds like a lot of people have. Best wishes to you!

I auditioned about a month ago here in LA (thank the lord the time has gone fast!)... Good luck to your D's friend and to everyone!

chrism - Are you aware of people who have been notified of acceptance into the MT program? I am aware of many people waiting, even from the fall, and many others who were rejected or were offered another major. I've not heard of any MT acceptances as of yet.

No, I haven't heard of any MT acceptances, only rejections. And I've just heard of the one acting acceptance. Should be an interesting week next week.

MY D got an email from Ithaca regarding a missing supplement, that gave her a deadline of Mar 15th to provide it. It sounded like they would not look at her app until that date.

Oh shoot, that means letter will arrive in late March after all. Thanks for that info.

Sorry...maybe it's just the final deadline for stragglers? Hope you get good news soon.

I got a rejection letter on...Monday? Tuesday? Something like that. This past week, anyway. I hope y'all have better luck than I did! ^.~

(for those interested, for timing and what not, my audition was January 28)

Thanks a lot for mentioning that, gstano, and sorry. Best of luck elsewhere!
