haha dont lie... we will both be rejected ED so Rejection=Rejection obviously...

Ew, TJ? Hell no. I'd kill myself before I went there, because the competition must be crazy tough... My friend told me that 60 people applied to Yale ED last year. That's more than we had apply to UVA this year (50)! Anyway, I go to the "second best" in Fairfax County - Langley. Where do you go?

fauquier high school.. we have around 5-10 people go to uva each year, last year 2 went to brown, and thats the best we had, one was athletic recruit too.. lots of people goto VT, JMU, ect..

NOT VERY COMPETITIVE :)

I think 15 people so far have gotten accepted to UVA (ED), so we're moderately competitive. We usually have at least one person go to every Ivy/Ivy-level school, half of them for athletics though. Year before last seven went to Cornell.. that seemed like a lot to me then.. I definitely don't think seven ppl from my class will be getting in there this year.

Anyway, if we both end up going to Rice then we'll have to meet up some day. It's not a very big school, compared to like.. Cornell. :D

yep! what are you planning to major in?

I'm applying ID also, and im from ID. lol waht a conincidencee.

neelesh, what attracts you to rice?

ID Applicant from Texas...College Station actually.
4/600, 1600, 800*3
Essays OK, I can't really judge.
EC's are average I suppose.
Rice is my second choice.

hey, what type of questions get asked in the interview...i applied ID...hoping to apply for the Rice/Baylor program

I think they made sure there was a question on community service, one on what you were interested in majoring and why, and one about how you got interested in Rice. At least, those are the ones my interviewer directly asked from the form.

My interview was really informal - coffee shop

I sent him a resume ahead of time so he just asked me questions about my sports, about clubs, conference I was planning, my favorite classes, etc etc. It varies depending on the person I'm sure, but when it comes down to it, they're just trying to know who you are, so there's really nothing to prepare for.

BTW, I am gonna hope to pursue economics... questions for you guys. they say 50% class is texan...is that an advantage or a disadvantage cause so many texans apply

hi all,

i applied ID with the common app for ENGINEERING and my feelings go out to all who did the same. two essays for no purpose... sheesh... couldn't they have thought of a less redundant manner?

oh, and, is there a chance we will find out before Feb. 10th our acceptance results?

I applied ID to Social Sciences/Economics. I`m from Texas too.

i think it is an advantage being from an underrepresented area.. they like diversity... i also heard rice is trying to accept more students from out of state

i guess being from CA doesn't really help b/c they have so many people from here.

rural virginia might help me =)
