ID Card Tip for all Admitted Students

I was admitted for the Spring a couple weeks ago and I went to campus yesterday to upgrade my EID for an unrelated reason. When I went to the ID desk (in the FAC building) the guy at the desk asked me if I wanted to go ahead and get my ID now too. I did, so I got one-even though I don't register for another month. [This is the ID that means free bus riding, I verified that with him!]

He told me that he didn't understand why UT has everyone get IDs at one time in an orientation season. He said that at his orientation, there was a line so long that he left and came back the next day, and no line.

When I went in yesterday there was also no line. It took less than five minutes and the cost ($10) went onto my "What I Owe" page. So if you are in Austin, or if you live here, near campus, it is worth it to come into the FAC and get an ID card before orientation. If not, get one after their allotted time, because it won't affect registration at all. There is no reason to wait in a huge line for something that took me under five minutes yesterday.

I got mine the day I was accepted!
