<p>Here are my stats (in brief)
1470 (780 V 690 M)
750 Writing, 700 Math IIC, 760 French, 600 Chemistry
National Merit Semi-Finalist (potential finalist)
I don't remember my GPA, but I know its fine
16-year-old white female, one of five kids
REALLY tiny private school in Texas
My school doesn't rank
I'm taking the hardest courseload my school offers, which amounts to 6 APs in all.
Last year I received: 4 (US Hist), 4 (Latin Vergil), 5 (Eng Lang) (AP scholar)
This spring I'll take: Calculus, French, and Chemistry
Awards:
-school math & science award, classics cup
-swimming medals, awards at regional and state art contests
-silver medal National Latin Exam, national laureate National French Exam
-awards at regional, state, and international science fairs
ECs:
-pottery, painting
-student council (fundraising and community service leadership positions)
-swimming
-drama, voice, etc.
summer job (4 years): making items for sale at my pottery teacher's shop, working as a clerk there

<p>I'd say your chances are pretty good. The sat and sat2's are pretty solid, as are the EC's. As long as your GPA is good (as in 3.8+), I'd say you've got a great shot. BTW, have you been to Rice's admission website, <a href="http://www.futureowls.rice.edu%5B/url%5D"&gt;www.futureowls.rice.edu&lt;/a> ? It's got a link to a page with some great admission stats that you might be interested in.</p>
