I'd greatly appreciate if someone could chance me for Emory!

So I’m currently an entering senior at a GA high school. I’m planning on applying to Emory University on their early decision 1. Emory is my dream school. i want to enter in as pre med and major in Neuroscience.

female, ethnicity= Sri Lankan (moved to USA when i was 6)
unweighted GPA= 3.96
AP classes= European History(3), Statistics(4), Language(4), Physics, Psychology(4) —currently enrolled in–> AP Chemistry, Biology, Calculus, and Microeconomics
*all other classes were honors
Class Rank= 19th in class of 800

ACT= 29 (it was my first time, hoping to reach 31+ before Nov. ) 9 on essay
planning on taking the SAT subject tests for math 1 and 2
SAT=1800(not great at all)

Extracurricular= Beta Club(7+ years), Mu Alpha Theta, National Honors Society for upperclassmen, Advanced Academics Club, Math team, International Club, National Music Honors Society (Treasurer position), Environmental Club, STEM Academy.
Activities= I play piano( 3+ years, self taught 2+) , self trained in programming/coding skills and languages: HTML/CSS, Ruby, JavaScript, J Query, Python, and PHP, hospital intern under labor department, tutor for high schoolers and middle schoolers in math
Volunteer= Public Library, Hospital under the women services and labor delivery department, volunteer under the National Music Honors Society, Beta, and NHS.
Awards= District nominee for Georgia Governors Honors Program under mathematics, 3rd place Science Fair county.

Your grades are good, and I think you should get your ACT score to a 32-33. If you could, I would say Emory is a high match. As of now, I think it would be a low reach. Chance me back?

I don’t know too much about detail into Emory, but Definetely get the ACT score up to a 32 at least and focus time into your essay and convey your passion for the neuroscience major. I think it’s really cool that you were able to learn a lot of programming languages… Somehow incorporate that in your essays. Good luck!

I was accepted into Emory and had similar stats, only higher test scores (30 ACT and 2020 SAT). Then again, Emory was still probably a High Match maybe even Low Reach for me, but that means that it’d probably around the same for you.
